  • Nell Rojas

    Nell Rojas is a professional marathon runner and the founder of RISE Boulder. She grew up in Boulder, CO with two older brothers and her dog Starblaze. She walked on to the Northern Arizona Cross Country and Track and Field team. After college she became a professional triathlete until she decided to move out of her mom's basement and focus on her coaching career. She discovered marathons when she finished 7th at the 2018 marathon national championships in a time of 2:31. She recently finished 6th at the 2021 Boston Marathon and 10th at the 2022 Boston Marathon. She is the 2021 10 mile national champion.

    Nell started coaching with her dad Ric Rojas when she graduated from high school and has been coaching ever since. She is well known for her strength training for runners.

  • Hiruni Wijayaratne

    Hiruni is a marathoner to her core. Always playing the long game has contributed to her success on the roads and in her career.
    She currently holds 10 Sri lankan National records ranging in distances from 1 mile to marathon. She is also the current South Asian subcontinent record holder in the marathon, as well as the defending Asian marathon champion.

    When not running, Hiruni directs Customer Success and Operational teams in the health and wellness industry.

  • Molly Grabill

    Molly is a former Oregon Duck where she was a six time All-American. She has a 2:29 marathon PR, coming in 2nd at the 2021 California International Marathon. She is also fresh off of a top 10 finish at the 10k National Championships in a time of 31:49. The best part is that she’s just getting started.

  • Luis Orta

    Luis Orta is a Venezuelan Olympic marathoner, who currently holds the Venezuelan national records in the 10 Kilometers and the Half Marathon distances. He has participated in over 20 international competitions representing his home country of Venezuela, including 6 World Championships and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. After graduating from the University of Kentucky with two degrees and a Masters in Sports Administration, Luis moved to beautiful Boulder, Colorado with the goal of qualifying for the Olympic Games, while at the same time growing his coaching company and traveling the world training.

    Luis Orta graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Master’s Degree in Sports Administration and Coaching. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Commerce and a second one in Hispanic Studies, both from U.K. Orta is fluent in both English and Spanish. While in college, Orta ran for the Kentucky Wildcats where he quickly became the Team captain and was awarded as Mr. Wildcat or athlete of the year for two consecutive years. After graduation, he continued to pursue four different coaching certifications such as: RRCA Certified Coach in 2017, the Lydiard Certified Coach in 2018, the USATF Certified Coach in 2019 and the Vdot, Jack Daniels Certified Coach in 2020.

  • Babs

    Babs is the premier star on the RISE Running elite team. Dog to Nell Rojas, Babs is a cute and spunky lover of life. Although not very invested in running, Babs is an avid swimmer who much prefers water to land. She is easily the most energetic and motivational member of this team and is able to put a smile on all athletes faces on a daily basis. Babs has an eye patch that is easily recognized from a mile away making her one of the most iconic dogs of Boulder.
